2015 RESULTS

We had a great race Saturday morning – though it was a bit hot, the sun was out and it was a beautiful day.  If you’d like to see photos and a video from the event by Kat Canant, please go to our Facebook page with this link – https://www.facebook.com/lakelureclassicalacademyraptorstogarun

Having just completed our 4th year, we were once again proud to be part of the Rutherford County Race Series – please go to http://rutherfordoutdoor.org/outdoor-activities/raceseries for more details about all of the great races in Rutherford County this year and to sign up for one of their  events.

Stay tuned for details about the 2016 Raptors Toga Run.  Click on the following link for this year’s race map – Raptors Toga Course Map 2015

It’s a relatively flat course that starts in Morse Park, runs along the lake and the river, across the Flowering Bridge and up Boys Camp Road…then comes back the same way.  It’s a great course for first-time runners, families with children and, of course, toga wearers!  There’s a ONE MILE FUN RUN that leaves from the same start-finish line and goes out and back along the lake and river…and is totally flat.

After the race, there are refreshments for the runners, medals for the best runners in each age group and awesome prizes for the best togas.  Bring the whole family and enjoy the Lake Lure Classical Academy Spring Fling (go to llca.teamcfa.org for details), which immediately follows our event – it should be a fun day for all!

While you’re here on this page, please feel free to look at last year’s times and awards. Here’s a link to the results – http://runningtime.info/2014/051714Raptors5KR.htm and the awards – http://runningtime.info/2014/051714Raptors5KA.htm

Raptors Toga Sponsor Form 2015

Event Background and History

In May 2012, LLCEF sponsored and helped organize the first-ever Raptors Toga 5K Run & Walk in Lake Lure. In April 2013, our 2nd event was even more successful with 115 total entrants (up from 73 in 2012).

The course started and ended in Morse Park and included a run out and back on Boys Camp Road – it was a pretty flat course for this area, which made it a wonderful event for new and young runners!  The togas made the run a bit more challenging but a lot more fun!

We’ve raised over $7,150 in our first three years!
